IEEE consists of more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, from different parts of the world. The main aim of an IEEE member is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

The long awaited opportunity for all the engineering students to showcase their unique talent and enthusiasm is finally here-IEEE Hyderabad Section Student Congress’12 (SSC). This year SSC promises loads of fun and excitement along with some very good technical discussions to tickle your technical aspects. SSC’12 will be held on 17-18 August 2012 at Osmania University in Hyderabad.

The Student congress is an exuberant event organized annually mainly for engineering students, to discuss, interact and gain bounteous knowledge. The congress is a platform for technical talks, office bearers meet, brain storming sessions, training and networking sessions. The idea behind this congress is to bring forth the student branch leaders, members and volunteers onto a single stage to share, interact and learn.

The congress also witnesses eminent speakers sharing their knowledge with the young and aspiring minds of the student community of the section.The long list of dynamic speakers includes names such as Mr Aditya Rao, Development Manager at Oracle, Hyderabad and also Vice-Chair, Membership Development Committee, IEEE Computer Society.The Student Section Congress will also be graced by the presence of The Honorary Chief Guest Dr. V.N.Mani, Scientist-E,C-MET, Hyderabad and Guest of Honor, Mrs. Madumitha Chakravarthy, Scientist –F , RCI, Hyderabad.

Like every year, this year's congress is also spread over two days. The major attractions of the student congress 2012 are the Student Branch Exhibition and various competitions held for the participants. The student Branch Exhibition is an invitation based competition where the active and invited Student branches will be competing for “Vibrant Student Branch Award”. The congress serves as a medium of networking and learning for the student community of the IEEE Hyderabad Section.
