Hyderabad|India|August'2012: Ohri’s,
one of the leading hospitality chains of South India, celebrated
Independence Day with a promising “Go Green” initiative, wherein it
planted more than 1000 tree saplings in schools compound of Govt. Schools
af Secundrabad, Bowenpally and St Ann school Secundrabad. Present on the
occasion were Mr. A K Solanky, COO of Ohri’s Group of Hotels, Ohri’s Group
Executive Chef. Vikram Simha and many other employees from the Group along
with the teaching staff of the schools.
This green cover initiative is taken up every year by the Ohri’s Group
where it engages with social segments and pledges it’s support to the
community. This year with this initiative Ohri’s Group is doing it’s bit
to cool the globe, purify the air and help maintain the eco balance. It
believes that if all the Indians and world citizens take some time out for
such activities, it will help not to rectify the rain shower cycle,
conserve fresh rainwater, help to feed streams, rivers and lake. These
trees will also provide essential shelter and food for birds, insects and
animals and put balance in the eco cycle. They will absorb noise and toxic
chemicals from the soil and help prevent soil erosion and transform barren
wasteland into fertile soil. In a growing city like Hyderabad it is
essential to plant trees to reduce heating and induce natural cooling to
the houses.
