“Celebrating
Age Expo on Active Retirement” to be held in city
Hyderabad|India|August'2012: Vision India in association
with the International Longevity Centre India Chapter and supported by the
International Federation on Ageing (IFA), the Silver Innings Foundation
and the Association of Senior Living India (ASLI) brings six city 2 Day
“Celebrating Age Expo on Active Retirement” coming to city. It will be
held on October 13 and 14th.
The first of the expo series is in Bangalore on September 1 and 2 followed
by one at Pune on September 7 and 8 and later on at the World Trade Centre
in Mumbai on September 15 and 16. The same expo continues at Ahmedabad on
September 22 and 23 and in Goa on September 29 and 30. Chennai follows
with the expo to be held on October 6 and 7, at Hyderabad on October 13
and 14 and the last one in Delhi on October 20 and 21.
The expo will showce the goods and products for the 50 plus, activities
and events as well as a live performance festival. There wil be a senior
officials meeting on qualitative and healthy ageing trends, recruitment
desks and second career opportunities, workshops on insurance, banking,
etc.
Dr Masehlkar. renowned scientist and president of the International
Longevity Centre India and Dr Gokhale, Dr K.R.Gangadharan, IFA President
and Ms Monica Ferreira, ILC GA and Ms Jane Barrat, DG of the IFA will be

The21st Century has been christened the century of elderly persons And
22nd will be called the century of the 'ageing of the aged'. By 2050,
India is set to have the highest number of people 50 years and above and
will overtake China's current primary status says Janki Venketraman of
Vision India while announcing 'Celebrating Age',century of the 'ageing of
the aged', Population ageing is one of the most important global trends of
the 21st century, he informed.
This show is a pioneering initiative, a spirited 2012 version on
qualitative ageing and productive human talent as well as the emergence of
new markets. It will be addressing the trends and tipping points that are
accelerating change in consumer attitudes of those aged 50 and above. This
market segment has only touched the tip of the iceberg and thus offers
enormous potential to all stakeholders. The International Longevity Cetre-India
is headed by the sterling leadership of Dr R.A.Masehlkar, renowned
scientist and president of the Centre along with Dr S.D.Gokhale, who have
dedicated themselves to addressing the issues of the elderly together with
population ageing, which is emerging as a major challenge of the 21st
century
The challenge is to ensure that the elderly are able to lead a healthy and
dignified life ahead. They should have every opportunity to pursue the
activities of their choice and be treated with respect and dignity. The
elderly form a rich repository of knowledge and experience and this event
has been desinged to showcase the activities that the elderly can
participate in to enrich their retirement lives.
Apart from the workshops and conferences there will also be many fun and
frolic programmes including yoga, aerobics, food stalls and recreational
amenities. Care has been taken to stage the programme in centrally located
venues with ample space and facilities like wheelchairs, drinking water,
food courts, etc to make seniors comfortable.
