Hyderabad|India|Sept'2012: After a gap of 14 years, The ICSI- Hyderabad Chapter is set to organize the prestigious “13th All India Students Conference for Company Secretaryship students” on theme “CS The Corporate Leader” for the year 2012 on Sep 7th& 8th at Global Peace Auditorium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI),is a Premier National Professional Body established by a central Act, Company Secretaries Act, 1980 under the Control of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The primary objective is towards development and regulation of the profession of Company Secretaries.

The current student membership of the Institute is about two and half lakhs. The Institute has a strong cadre of over 30,000 + members occupying key positions in the corporate sector and central and state Governments. The members are also working as independent professionals and hold key management positions in the hierarchy of various corporates in India and abroad.

The Institute has been proactively engaged in encouraging good Corporate Governance culture in India by advocating best practices and compliance of various laws. With a view to propagate the concept, the Institute has been organizing various seminars and conferences at its Headquarters, Regional Councils and Chapters.

The Institute’s Hyderabad Chapter is one of the most active and vibrant chapters in the country and has to its credit severallaurels viz., achieving multiple “Best Chapter Award” for furthering the objectives and goals of the Institute. As part of its professional development activities, The ICSI - Hyderabad Chapter organizes programmes on issues relevant to the corporate sector and the profession of Company Secretaries. Eminent persons from trade and industry, academicians, senior civil servants, practicing professionals and other dignitaries from various disciplines have addressed the programmes conducted by the Institute/Chapter.

Role of Company Secretary emanates from the Institute’s mission to develop high caliber professionals facilitating good corporate governance. Company Secretary is a bridge between various stake holders such as investors, society, regulators and employees. He is Chief Compliance officer and responsible for not only legal but ethical compliance of plethora of Laws. He renders services in areas of Law, project planning, due diligence, Corporate Restructuring Corporate Law Advisory Services, Appearance before regulatory authorities, export-import and Forex Dealings, Arbitration and conciliation, IPR, personnel matters , Service Tax and Central Excise matters and similar other areas.

In the process of accomplishing our mission, the focus is more on the student community as The Institute firmly believe that these traits of ethical compliance shall be instilled in the budding stage itself. In the same process The Institute invite eminent personalities in the hope of expecting students to emulate their qualities and succeed in their professional careers.
