L'Oréal Professional International Hairdressing Academy forays into
Hyderabad
Hyderabad|India|August'2012: Hair makes a fashion statement. Behind
those hair styles are the hair stylists and hair dressers. Unlike in the
past, now they are the most sought after professionals. Hairdressers are
your new-age style gurus now. With increasing influence of film stars and
their hairstyles, there is a greater influence in our outlook than ever
before. Hair dressers today are not mere workers who skillfully maneuver
scissors and comb, but they are new style gurus. People have become
conscious of their looks and spend money accordingly.
They transform a simple individual to a modern looking people. Hair
dressers were never in spotlight until recently. But, things have changed.
Hyderabad based Manea, The School of Hair and Beauty in collaboration with
L’Oreal brings state-of-the-art L’Oreal Professional International
Hairdressing Academy to the city.
Giving details Ms. Padmini Raja, Managing Director of Manea informed that
they plan to offer 4 month full time Hair Dressing Course for Beginners.
The course will commence in October. For which they seek admission now.
This is the basic course on Hair Dressing, informed Ms. Padmini. The
course also includes one month Salon Work Experience. Only 10 candidates
are allowed in a batch. Faculty are trained and certified by L’Oreal.
Those who are 10th passed and have passion for creative work need to
apply. The course is open to both the boys and girls. Creativity is the
most important prerequisite. A hairstylist should know what kind of style
would suit a certain person. The individual should have the ability to pay
attention to minute details and should be well organized. There will be a
strict selection process, after which one can get admission informed Mr.
Sachin Dakoji, Creative Head and as well as head of Manea, The School of
Hair and Beauty. He is acclaimed as one of the ten best hairdressers in
India. Sachin is trained by Guy Kremer, London and Frank Provost, Paris.
Sachin’s clients include many film stars and whose who of the city.
Sachin was one of the five from India and only from South India to
participate in a show in Paris. He participated in 2004 International
Haute Coiffure Francais, the `mother of hair shows' to be held in the
mecca of fashion in Paris. There he also worked with Parisian stylist
Laurent De Creton, a sought after hair stylist. He also mastered colour,
cuts and styling techniques at the L'Oreal head quarters.
Mane'a draws inspiration from it’s creative director, Mr.Sachin who has
over 20 years of experience. He won Creative Stylist/Makeup-1998” award at
Salon International. He has also participated in several training sessions
including those conducted by Guy Kremer, Trevor Sorbie, Toni & Guy, UK and
Frank Provost, Toni & Guy in paris, France. Young generation in city can
draw inspiration from him and have benefit of Sachin’s experience.
Sachin’s dream is to make many youngsters as most sought after
hairstylists like him.
Some of the topics covered as part of this program include Cut, Colour,
Communication, Hair Science, Hair Care, Texture, Hair Design, Colour
Technology, Chemical Processing on Hair, Salon Management and Clientele
and Relationship etc and other. Manea has a full fledged Academy and
state-of-the-art Salon at Banjara Hills.
The career opportunities for a professional hairstylist are abundant.
Candidates can opt for either only hair cutting and styling or only hair
colouring and hair care, or he or she can go in for everything. Once an
individual decides to go for a career in hairstyling, there are several
avenues open such as opening one's own salon, working with another
established stylist, or entering the world of celebrity hairstyling. They
can enter other glamour fields like films, advertising industry and TV
production houses as hair stylilsts. One can work either freelance or
full-time, depending on one's preferences. Initially, one might have to
start out as an assistant to an established stylist, and gradually grow
towards one's goal. The opportunities are a plenty. We at Manea have

Demand for hairdressers is more now than before. India needs 2.5 lakh
professional hairdressers. Those upon completion of the course can find
