Ajanta Pavilion |
Situated in Public
Gardens, there is an exhibition of paintings from
Ajanta caves in Aurangabad. Open 10.30 pm to 5pm.

Salar Jung Museum
 |
One
of the largest private collections in the world,
the Salar Jung Museum was started by Nawab Turab
Ali Khan, Salar Jung I, who in 1853 became the
Dewan of Hyderabad State. He began his collection
of precious items during his visits to Europe and
England.
The Museum has a collection of 43,000 art objects
and 50,000 books in 38 rooms spanned over three
floors. The collections are divided into groups
as Middle Eastern Art, Indian
Art, Nepalese, Tibetian, and
Burmese Art, Far Eastern Art,
European Art, and
Children Section.
Situated near Naya Pul, Afzal Gunj.

There are
several Public and State libraries as well as libraries
maintained by educational, research, and technical
institutes. Except where indicated, entry is open to all,
though borrowing books is restricted to members only.

Situated
near Birla Planetarium, it has a library of
French books and magazines, mainly for the
candidates interested in learning French. It also
holds tuitions to learn French and yearly French
festivals by screening several French films.

a good collection of books on American literature, Economics, Political and Social
Sciences by American authors. Open to members
only. Temporary membership is available for those
who are affiliated to educational institutions
