Founded in 1956 at the initiative of Government and
Industry, the Administrative Staff College of India is a
pioneer in the field of post experience management
development and training. ASCI has remained the leader and
pace setter in developing professionalism in management.
Over 50,000 executives from government, public and private
sector undertakings have taken advantage of the
residential programmes offered by the College.
Administrative Staff College of India has been a nodal
agency contributing to the two-way cycle of theory and
practice, each shaping the other. ASCI has been providing
opportunities for corporate managers, administrators and
scholars to gain perspectives as well as offering concrete
and constructive solutions to their problems through
consultancy services.
ASCI has over thirty strong interdisciplinary faculty
engaged in Research. Training and Consultancy. Research
Projects undertaken by ASCI are oriented to current issues
and maintain relevance by being interlinked with training
and consultancy. Training utilises new inputs from
Research to upgrade programme contents and also draws
original cases studies from the experience gathered in
consulting.
Originally modelled on the renowned Management College at
Henley, UK, ASCI faculty are grouped into Area
specializations, each headed by an Area Chairman. Further
special focus is placed on the key functional areas
through the prestigious endowment chairs that are
sponsored by public and private corporations.
These highlight the close and constructive relationships
that ASCI has built in its endeavors to foster an
effective, indigenous and progressive management culture.
It offers useful In company training programmes that are
tailored to serve the particular needs of an organization.
ASCI has an impressive track record, having served almost
all the reputed organizations in India.
In this annual calendar of programmes, ASCI offers around
100 courses catering to different managerial levels in
both general management area and on very specialised
topics.
ASCI has the appropriate ethos, locale and infrastructure
to facilitate these processes. It has a sylvan setting and
quiet environs and can boast of excellent recreational
facilities. These offer ample scope for informal yet
productive interaction among participants and faculty
members.
ASCI has an impressive stock of literature on management
and social sciences in its library and a good number of
books on related modern discipline. It has also a very
organised collection of journals and periodicals that are
efficiently accessed to serve the faculty and programme
participants. It has set up a modest Virtual Information
Centre by networking more than ten Pentium work stations.
They provide access to global information high-way. The
facility is open to the programme participants.
ASCI has installed a Campus Wide Computer Network which
connects all academic and administrative departments. A
state of the art computer centre with Pentium based
Internet and computer based training are in place.
Located in the centre of the city in a beautiful campus of
around 9 acres of land, ASCI is stationed in the palace of
the erstwhile Prince of Berar, the eldest son of Nizam.
BELLA VISTA, the campus is architecturally aesthetic with
verdant surroundings, creates a perfect ambience for study
and reflection. ASCI has 110 well appointed,
air-conditioned single rooms with an suite washrooms for
convenience.
Regular meals on campus, while meeting varied tastes,
follow a nutrition specialist's dietary recommendations on
values. Besides Billiards and other indoor games, the
College has Badminton, Croquet, Tennis courts and a
Swimming pool.
Participants of College Programmes are members of ASCI
Alumni Association, and are encouraged to
organize/participate in Bellavistan activities in their
respective Chapters and keep active and regular contacts
with the College. The members will receive the Annual
Newsletter (Bellavistan) regularly.
At the new Centre of Management Education located in
Banjara Hills, ASCI conducts both short and long duration
programmes in Healthcare Management, Infrastructure
Management and Technology Management.
ASCI also offers non-residential programmes from its New
Delhi Centre.
