2005: Hyderabad Management
Association (HMA) honored
Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju,
Founder and Chairman of Satyam
Computer Services Limited, with the prestigious
Lifetime Achievement Award,
for the year 2005. The award was given by Finance Minister, Mr. K.
Rosaiah at an event held today. Mr Sunil Alagh, President, AIMA
was the Guest of Honor at the event, which was also attended by
Maj Gen D N Khurana, DG, AIMA.
The jury constituting of eminent personalities,
conferred this award to Mr. Raju, for his unprecedented
contribution to the Indian IT Industry, not only in India but also
on the Global IT platform. His vision and foresight in taking
Andhra Pradesh onto the Global map for IT Growth and Development
is a dream come true today.
Speaking on the occasion,
Mr. Raju, said, “Today,
India is becoming a significant player in global commerce and
trade and Information Technology continues to play a vital role in
making this happen. It is encouraging to note that IT is seeping
into every facet of our society today, including the common man in
villages.”
The Lifetime Achievement Award, which was
instituted in the year 2000 by HMA, had distinguished winners in
the past, such as Dr. Anji Reddy, Chairman, Dr. Reddy’s
Laboratories; Gen K V Krishna Rao, PVSM (Retd), Former Governor,
J&K; and Justice K Jayachandra Reddy, Chairman, Press Council of
India.
