Dr.G.V.Rama Krishna,
the Chairman & Managing Director of SELCO is a Doctorate in Zoology, extensively worked in the field of Parasite Biochemistry served as faculty member in Osmania university for a period of 15 years and studied about the potentiality & prospects of renewable energy systems and made extensive survey in the line of generation of electricity out of Garbage.
He has been awarded Prof.M.B.Mizra Award (Young Scientist Award) sponsored by the prestigious National Institute of India Society of Parasitology, CDRI, Lucknow in the year 1984 for his outstanding contribution to the field of parasite biochemistry. He is also the Young Scientist award winner of Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi in 1984.
As a research student he stumbled upon an idea of eco-friendly project while he was working with fresh water snails from the human welfare point of view. His visit to Texas A & M University College Station, USA IN 1987, Quebec Univ. Montreal as visiting Professor, and his visit to Equmaar, Atlanta, USA in 1996 has strengthened his thoughts which resulted in the present biotechnology industry which aims to convert Municipal Solid Waste to Energy Rich Fuel and finally the production of electricity.
He played vital role from concept to realization of the MSW processing plant of SELCO.
About The Company :
At Brazil, South America, SELCO International Limited.(SIL), was registered as separate
entity and it represents Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the entire latin America.
SELCO signed MOU with C-DAC for promoting the Super Computers in Latin America. SIL is having long understanding and signed MOU with different top companies of India viz., Electronic Corporation of India Limited(ECIL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), & National Aeronautics Limited(NAL) etc. SELCO has exclusive rights from M/s. EQUIMAAR (Atlanta,U.S.A) to market Matter to Energy Conversation Systems (MECS) in India.
SELCO has now established first commercial processing plant in the country, and is establishing 10 M W capacity power plant based on
processed MSW near Hyderabad. The Garbage processing plant has started the
production of Energy Rich Fuel (ERF) and other related products by processing the Municipal Solid Waste. ERF is a coal substitute and can be used in Steel Rolling Mills, Cement Plants, Power Generation, Textile Industry etc. The use of ERF is environmental friendly, Relatively Low Cost of production, High Yeild & is a high Quality product. SELCO has a firm and long term understanding with the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) for the supply of 700 tonnes pr day (TPD) of MSW. 10 acres of land at the trench ground, Gandamguda was given on lease for 30 years by the MCH to SELCO. MCH and the Government of Andhra Pradesh have extended all Sources (MNES), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) and the Technology Development Board (TDB), Government of India.
The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad generates about 2200 TPD of MSW. The present plant of SELCO processes 700 TPD of MSW. Hence, another 1500 TPD of MSW is still is a cause for concern. SIL has plans to setup another processing unit for the remaining garbage of Twin Cities which can contribute another 20 MW.
Encouraged by the success of waste treatment plants abroad and the technology proved at the pilot plant by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, SELCO International Limited (SIL) has now established the first commercial Municipal Garbage Processing Plant in the country. This Unique project is located at Gandamguda Village, Rajendra Nagar Mandal, Ranga Reddy
District, located at the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Selco International Ltd has recently been awarded
the "Best Development of Alternative
inexhaustible Energy Sources" by The
Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FAPCCI)
