For the man in uniform for Narne
Estates,this man is Colonel Narne Ranga Rao, a retired officer of the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
(EME) with a distinguished and honorable career behind him. His first hand experience of the sufferings of the Indian Soldier in the bitter and harsh realities of the 1971 War, was the foundation upon which his dream was built. Knowing fully well that the Indian Soldier was a hero only for an hour and then soon forgotten, Colonel Ranga Rao resolved to dedicate his life towards the welfare of his brothers-in-arms to express his gratitude and recognition to their unheralded, yet vital, service to the Nation.

Colonel Rao made a modest beginning during 1977 with the formation of the GUNROCK ENCLAVE CO-OP HOUSING SOCIETY in Secunderabad. Situated on 36 acres of prime land at the head of the Cantonment and in the heart of the city, this colony has now become the most exclusive address in Secunderabad. However, the growth of the society was a long and arduous one, with many an obstacle thrown in the way, both legal and otherwise. Only the guts and sheer resolve of Colonel Rao was able to prevail against all odds. After years of continuous striving, the society received the green signal and the land was distributed amongst about 200 defence off icers, at just Rs. 53/- per square yard. Today that land is worth more than Rs. 6,000/- per sq. yd, an appreciation of over 200 times.
Some of the major projects of Narne Estates are East City,North City,Central Park,Rolling Meadows and Golden Heights.
Recognition of Narnes accomplishments, its strict adherence to business ethics and quality, has not been long in coming. Col. [Retd] Narne Ranga Rao has been awarded the "Udyog Rattan", "Manav Seva Puraskar", "TransWorld Gold Star" and the "Glory of India International" Awards. In addition, Narne Estates is conferred the "Certificate of Excellence" for Productivity, Quality, Customer Service and Innovative Management.
Col. [Retd] Narne Ranga Rao is the founder President of the Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association (APREDA) and Member of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FAPCCI) and Council of Fair Business Practices.
He
has recently undergone a by-pass surgery and is
recovering. But that has not dampened his spirit and he is constantly monitoring his office.Hat's off to the colonel's
