Nominations open till June 25, 2004
Hyderabad, June, 2004:
Bharti Center for Entrepreneurial Initiatives (BCEI), a Bharti Foundation
and Entrepreneurship Development Institute’s joint initiative, today
announced nominations for the ‘Bharti Entrepreneur Award 2004’ would be
open till June 25, 2004. The award is an annual event and comprises of a
cash award of Rs. 1 lakh, a trophy and a citation. The award recognizes
the accomplishments of trained first generation entrepreneurs. This award,
last year, was presented to a Punjab based entrepreneur Mr. R. S.
Khadwalia, CMD, Indo Farm Equipment Ltd.
Entries for this year’s award is invited from regular Entrepreneurship
Development Programme (EDP) trained first generation entrepreneurs,
emerging from preferably a non-business family and possessing five
successful years in business. An institution or an NGO conducting
entrepreneurship development training can also nominate its trained
entrepreneur(s).Nominations can be sent to Mr. S. B. Sareen, at sareen@ediindia.org
A jury consisting of eminent professionals and educationists would
shortlist the eligible applications and the short listed candidates would
be invited at the EDI campus, Ahmedabad for personal interaction with the
jury. The personal interaction would explore the vision, roadmap and
strategies conceived to tackle the rough times in business and future
directions.
The Bharti Centre for Entrepreneurial Initiatives was set up in the year
2002 with an objective of promoting entrepreneurship through a host of
activities in education, research and training. As a part of its program,
the institute conducts an annual nationwide search for identifying the
Entrepreneur of the Year.
