Hyderabad, June, 2002:  Delhi Public School (DPS), one of India’s finest schools with over 100 branches, with over 55 years of track record and spread out all over India and abroad now branches out to Secunderabad. DPS is one of the very few schools of pre-Independence origin in the country. Starting from this academic year the Secunderabad branch will start functioning. Located near Diamond point on Tarbund Sikh Road it is spread in over 1.5 acre campus. The foundation stone for the campus was laid by Shri Chandra Babu Naidu in the month of the December last year.

To begin with, the new branch at Secunderabad will have pre primary and primary sections. And would like to add middle and high school sections in two years time.

We are branching out to Secunderabad as there was request from parents from Secunderabad and adjoining places. This will enable us to attract students from these areas informed Mr. Umanath, Pro Vice Chairman.

Delhi Public School is known for the all-round development of the children. Delhi Public School campus is considered by many as the play ground for excellence. DPS already has a centre located in a sprawling campus at Nanakramguda, Gachibowli.

The admissions at the new branch are in progress. Admissions can be sought from pre-nursery to 4th class.

The genesis of Delhi Public School in India dates back to 1941 when the school embarked upon its long journey first as church high school, then to Naveen Bharat school in 1947 and finally at Matura road, in Delhi in 1949.

The birth of a new nation in 1947 also saw the emergence of a new era, a place where the future of a great nation was being envisioned, where the young minds of that day were moulded from silly putty to a formidable force in nation building.

This day after more than 55 years and over 100 schools through out India and abroad DPS is probably the only school in the country with such credentials to its name.

No other School in the history of the country has such a glorious past and hope for the future. Who else can stand testimony to this great institution than its thousands of students, alma matter and numerous satisfied parents over the years.

The school has produced luminaries in every walk of life. Be it politics, bureaucracy, sports or any other field.
