The Citigroup Foundation has announced a $1 million grant to the Indian School of
Business (ISB) at Hyderabad. The amount will be disbursed over the next three years, with $ 350,000 in 2000-2001 and the balance of $300,000 to be
disbursed in 2002. The school is expected to open in June 2001 with 130 students.
This allocation will help $ 50,000 annually to support four partial 'Citigroup Scholarships'.
This will help the students fulfill the expected $25,000 annual fee including school fee, room, board and books.
The Citigroup's gesture was a reflection of its recognition of the leading role played by India in the development of human capital which has global impact.
