Hyderabad, September '04: Indian Nurses are in
the stage of transformation of their career. From the days of mere
caretakers, they have emerged to play the role of an ambassador between
a physician and a patient. Many times they fulfil many of the functions
of a doctor. But unfortunately we don’t have many good quality nurses
for quality healthcare said Mr. P. Krishna Murthy, Registrar of A.P
Nursing Council addressing a gathering of Nurses, Paramedical staff and
health industry fraternity immediately after inaugurating Neon Nursing
Network Pvt Ltd, a new organisation floated for the career management of
nursing and other health care professionals. He was the Chief Guest at
the Inuaugral function at Neon Nursing Network office premises at
Medchal .
For the first time in the history of the career of nurses they are in
huge demand due to the critical shortage of registered nurses in the
United States. This has led to a boom in the recruitment of Indian
nurses to America. Keeping the unprecedented demand for trained Indian
nurses and para medical staff, a new organization “Neon Nursing Network
Pvt. Ltd.” for specialized training of Nurses and other health care
professionals like para medical staff etc has been established. It is
being promoted by Share Health Care & MediCiti Health Care Services Pvt.
Ltd. set up under the parent company Share USA.
Mrs. Swarajya Lakshmi, Deputy Director of Nursing, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, also graced the occasion and appreciated the mangement of Neon
Nursing Network Pvt. Ltd. (NNNPL) for starting a new organisation to
impart quality training as there is lot of need for the trained
professionals nurses not only in India but abroad, she said. Today’s
nurses need to possess quality standards on par with staff in other
medical fields.
Mr. R. Vijaya Kumar, Chairman of Share Health Care also spoke on the
occasion. He said Neon sees Nursing as Delivering Care, with
responsibility and commitment by applying the knowledge of medical
regimen and clinical perception. NNNPL is committed to developing the
Nursing community in this vast field of medical staffing and health care
services.Neon Nursing Network’s is being set up with an aim to
contribute towards generating the nursing talent through focussing on
rigorous value based training and to offer medical staffing services to
healthcare institutions and establishments across the globe, informed
Mr. Narayan Swamy, CEO of Mediciti Hospitals.
Dr. Surender Reddy, Principal of Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences,
Mrs. Marsi Augustin, Director of Nursing, Mediciti, Dr. Malakond Reddy
and others graced the occasion. Over 300 nursing students have also
participated in the inaugural function. Ms. J.M. Leena, Project Manager
who made a slide presentation highlighted the shortage of professionally
