Sunil Bharti Mittal gets "The Frost & Sullivan CEO of the Year" Award

 

 

Hyderabad, May, 2004:  Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman & Group Managing Director of India’s leading telecom conglomerate Bharti Enterprises, is the “Frost & Sullivan CEO of the year.” This award is a part of the Asia Pacific Technology Awards 2004, by Frost & Sullivan and recognises outstanding performance by companies in Asia Pacific region, in the Information & Communication Technology industry. Mr. Mittal has been conferred the award in the service providers category.

 

The Frost & Sullivan awards are given based on actual market performance of the company in the preceding fiscal year and the parameters include revenue growth, market share & market share growth and demonstrated leadership in product and service innovation.

 

Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal was selected for the award by a panel of highly distinguished judges comprising eminent achievers in their respective fields like Mr. Francois Lancon, President, Convergys, Asia Pacific, Mr. Rudy Frey, CEO, Siemens ICN Asia Pacific, Mr. Nick Hutton, VP, Marketing, Alcatel Asia Pacific, Mr. Clement Tao, Editor, Tele.com and Mr. Raghav Sahgal, Managing Director, CSG Systems Asia Pacific.

His managerial and financial skills are reflected in the fact that Bharti is the one of the first few service companies in India to have a turnover in excess of a billion dollars, has secured over $1 billion in foreign equity, has a market capitalisation, which is amongst the top ten companies in India and contributes nearly 10% of the Indian telecom services revenue.
