The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) was started in 1917 catering to the needs of Trade and Industry in old Hyderabad State. It was then known as Hyderabad Deccan Chamber of Commerce which later become FAPCCI .
The Federation body registered under the Indian Companies Act as a Charitable Institute to represent general
interests, defend and promote the interests of Trade and Industry and serve as a consultative organ for the Govt. and Public authorities. The Chamber is a representative
democratic, independent and financially sound organization.
The Federation has instituted several Awards with a view to encourage Industrial and Commercial
Organizations to pay special attention to achieve excellence in important national, economic and social areas. These Awards are distributed annually by Hon'ble Chief Minister at the Annual Function.
The main functions of the Federation are:
*To Promote and protect the interests of trade, commerce and industry in AP.
*To consider all questions connected with trade, commerce and industry and initiate or support necessary action in connection therewith.
*To encourage friendly feeling and unanimity among the business community on all subjects connected with the common goal of business.
*To take all steps which may be necessary for promoting, supporting or opposing legislation or other action affecting the
interest of industry and trade by the government or any local body or bodies and in general to take the initiative to secure the welfare of the business community in all respect.
The chamber is engaged in:
* Collecting and disseminating information on Trade & Industry
*conducting seminars/workshops/training programmes etc.
*arbitrating trade dispute.
*undertaking functions like issuing Certificates of Origin/Visa recommendation letters.
Management & Resource Leadership:
A Managing Committee of 33 Members and Past-Presidents as
special invitees, gives overall direction in the work of the Federation. As many as 19 Committees bestow special attention to
different subjects.
Conferences, Meetings & Representations:
The Federation organizes special conferences and workshops having a bearing on the above subjects at periodical intervals. This apart, meetings are held with visiting dignitaries and special invitees.
Representations are made to the authorities for removal of difficulties faced by indutry and trade from time to time.
Basic Services:
The following are the services of the Federation at the disposal of Members:
Information on taxation, imports, exports, customs, company law
and control regulations.
Information on industries and industrial development, procedures of licensing, registration, collaboration, financial assistance, power tariffs, tax rates, incentives.
Services through the Representatives of the federation on various Advisory Bodies in removing
anomalies and difficulties in the administration of statutory and other public
organizations.
Information as to names of buyers and manufacturers in India and abroad.
Issue of Certificates of Origin to Non-GSP countries.
The Library and Reading Rooms of the Federation has Indian and Foreign Trade Directories, periodicals on Trade, Commerce and Industry, Trade Commissioners reports, Commercial and
Industrial Acts and Rules, Gazettes, Central and State. |
