| Industrial production growth
rate was the fastest in the decade. Liquidity
in the financial system and robust Indian
economy fuelled the growth in manufacturing,
which grew by 13.3% in July 2006.
Manufacturing sector has also been shining
continuously with the increasing demand and
manageable inflation even after oil price
hike. The sharp rise has been spurred by an
18% increase in production of consumer
goods-both durable and non-durable. The
capital goods sector, a strong indicator of
whether the rates would sustain, has also kept
up the momentum at 15.4%. The share of
manufacturing sector in Andhra Pradesh's GDP
remained stable at around 14.14%. The sector
has shown a growth of 23.68% in net sales
during April-March 2006 in comparison to the
corresponding period of the previous year as
per the data set available for manufacturing
companies in the state. In terms of first
quarter performance for April-June 2006-07,
net sales have increased by around 32.08% as
compared to the corresponding period previous
