Andhra Pradesh Technology Development and Promotion Centre (APTDC)
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has set up the Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC), an autonomous facilitating agency, under the joint participation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Technology Information Forecasting & Assessment Council ( TIFAC). The role model for APTDC has been the Steinbeis-Foundation, located in Stuttgart, Germany, which has been working since 1971 to bridge the gap between science, technology and the industry by providing a network of 370 specialised fields. Drawing upon the well-proven mechanism of Steinbeis Foundation, APTDC has created its own network with the participation of R&D Institutes, Universities, Consultants and Financial Institutions to foster the technology promotion in the state. The prime objective of APTDC is “providing a helping hand to the industries and entrepreneurs to reach and compete in global market through technology innovation and meeting international standards”. APTDC has also set up a Patent Information/Facilitation Centre for the benefit of the Industry. Around 100 leading R&D labs and institutes have agreed to provide expert services through APTDC.
