Those calling JTM subsribers will now be hearing a different tune as a result 
of its takeover by Bharati Enterprises which  has chalked out plans to make AirTel cellular services the leading player in Andhra pradesh by march 2001.It plans to invest around 200 cores to establish infrastructural backbone. It includes laying of 3,000-km long optic fiber and adding 93 more cell sites to the existing 57.

In Andhra Pradesh, AirTel services are operational in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam,Guntur,Tirupati,Amalapuram and Nellore. The services expected to be extended to Kakinada, Rajahmundry and Bhimavaram by July'00.The company has over 46,000 subscribers in the State.

Overall AirTel has over 4 lakh subscribers in the country and AirTel has been voted India's best Cellular Service 3 years in a row.
