New Internet Magazine Launched in city
| Rachita Publication, a Hyderabad based publishing
company which is also into Computer Training and Software Development launched Starnetmag, an English
fortnightly on Internet at Hyderabad. The magazine after three trial issues, has launched it formally. The magazine is already available in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. The magazine aims to bridge the information gap amongst the internet users. Disclosing this Mr. G. Hemanth Kumar, 29, a MBA student from Shiv Shivani and the brain behind the publication informed that the objective of the publication is to inform, educate and entertain its readers about the internet. Adding further he said, ‘net has all the junk in every corner, it is hidden, we get our readers best of the net in the form of Starnetmag’. According to Mr. Chandra Suresh Naidu, the editor of the magazine ‘this decade is the decade of brain’. Internet is one such advancement which forms pace into everything. The way we bank, the way we read books, newspapers everything is changing. The Starnetmag plans to cater to the changing needs of its end customers. The inaugural issue contains covery story on e-governance in general in India and particular in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It also listed an exhaustive list of over 250 web sites of Republic of India and its related URLs along with e-mail I.Ds of members of Parliament. . The regular contents include topic of the fortnight, Teens Net Mag, Cyber Laws, Net Games, Hardware & Software, product information, Sites and their review, Nettainment Zone, Snippets, Downloads, Glossary and Net Happenings etc. The publication deals with all internet related interesting things in detail with exhaustive information and links. The mag will have everything from tips on beauty to advice on cars. Soon it will have an online edition, starnetmag.com as well. . Started as a small idea to feed information to the net surfers who frequented to the cybercafe owned by Mr. Hemanth, it was an instant hit as it supplied them hardcore and very useful information. Encouraged from the initial success from the over 400 cyber cafes in Hyderabad and South India, Mr. Hemanth and his team which includes Mr. Chandra Suresh Naidu, Mr. Pavan and others, all under 30 years and old collegemates, commissioned an in-house survey with sample size of 250 which included 150 cyber cafes and 100 net surfers who frequent the cyber cafes. The survey outcome clearly indicated that there was a need for a full fledged, dedicated magazine for the Internet users. Starting with an initial print run of 15000 copies with a cover price of Rs. 10/-, the publishers initially plans to focus on net savvy cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Chennai, Chandigarh and other. Gradually they plan to expand to other parts of the country. The publishers have already tied with many cyber cafes to promote and sale of the magazine. It’s circulation base by segment include individuals, cyber cafes, stand sales and corporate customers. Targeted at internet savvy professionals, project leaders, system analysts, programmers, web developers, consultants (software), managers in EDP, MIS, operations & network management and public in general, the magazine aspires to see itself as fore runners in the arena of content providers by bringing out quality offline magazine to make every online second count for more online productivity. -25 July '00 |
