Global Investors meet in Jan 2001
| Andhra Pradesh government is planning for
a Partnership Summit 2001, which it will be co-hosting with
the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) from January 9-11, 2001 in
Hyderabad. As a first step towards making the event a success, the state government is considering a proposal to hire the services of a global consultancy firm to organise the event. The state government has decided to approach the Summit in a systematic manner to prepare specific project proposals so that MoUs can be signed during the Summit. During the International Investments and Technology Conference which we hosted in Hyderabad in 1997, not many MoUs were signed . But this time the govt is preparing an action plan for a systematic execution of the meet. As per the broad action plan being considered, the six consultants -- Ernst and Young, KPMG, A F Ferguson, Mega Ace, Alpic Finance, and Pricewaterouse Coopers-- appointed in May to prepare proposals for seven short listed high-potential sectors, will also work on potential project profiles between July and September this year. Between October and November, contacts will be established with individual entrepreneurs to exchange information about potential projects in the state. The sources said the project profiles would be finalised in December so that the MoUs will be ready before the Summit begins in January. -19th July'00 |
