has been awarded the prestigious "The Manthan South Asia 2008 Award" for best
e-content for development under 104 health services in the State.
The CEO, HMRI (104), Mr.Balaji Utla and Advisor, HMRI, Dr.A.P.Ranga Rao met the
Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy at Secretariat recently regarding the
Certificate of Appreciation given to the organization. The Award was presented
at a function held at New Delhi recently.
Expressing his happiness, the Chief Minister complimented the HMRI officials and
wished them good luck in their future endeavours.
The certificate states that "Healthcare reaches the masses through meticulous
planning, integrated infrastructure, ICT enablement, government support and
passionate concern for the need of healthcare by the masses. HMRI has converted
this vision into reality. The project addresses the last mile problems involved
in delivery of health care services by supplementing, supporting, and
complementing the existing Public Health Delivery Systems, through technology,
especially to the rural public. Initially, the project was started as a Health
Information Help Line, with a toll free number. Now it has been extended to
provide various health services as Health Management and Research Institute in
four districts of Andhra Pradesh and has been scaled up to reach 8 crore people
in the entire State".
