Chandigarh Lions,
at the Tau Devi Lal stadium Gurgaon. In the end it was a wonderful Sunday
Biryani afternoon for the Hyderabad side making easy mince of the
Chandigarh Lions with a big nine wicket victory. Abdul Razzaq was declared
man of the match for his sparkling half century.
Chandigarh Lions won the toss and elected to bat. Sarabjit Singh & Lou
Vincent opened the innings, getting a solid start; placed at 29 for no
loss at the end of the third over. Harris brought on his spinner IS Reddy
in the fifth over who struck immediately trapping the dangerous Vincent to
end the 39 run partnership for this first wicket. Vincent's little cameo

of the first five overs the Lions from Punjab were placed at 43/1. Quick
wickets of Cairns and Sarabjit in the 7th & 8th over
respectively, had the Chandigarh Lions in a bit of a bother at 56/3. Boje
& Reddy were bowling well in tandem restricting the Chandigarh side at
64/3, at the half way mark of their innings. The usually explosive TP
Singh & Mongia were unable to find any momentum in their batting;
compounded by some disciplined spin bowling from the Hyderabad stable.
