World Series kicks off on November 23, 2008
Hyderabad,India:
The
Indian Cricket League (ICL) has announced the World Series starting
from November 23. The world series will be played between four teams
comprising of ICL India , ICL Pakistan , ICL World and ICL
Bangladesh. All the
matches of ICL World Series will be played at
Sardar Patel Stadium , Navrangpura. Indian Cricket League has
announced a prize money
corpus of Rs. 2.74 crores for its upcoming ICL World Series . The Winners
of this tournament stand to gain Rs.1.25 crore, Runner-up will cash in Rs.
75 lakh. Every league match will be fiercely contested and the financial
incentive for every win at the league stage will be a handsome Rs. 10 lakh.
The incentive for individual performance during the matches will be an
impressive Rs. 2 lakh for Man of the Match. Inzaman-ul-Haq will lead the
formidable ICL Pakistan team,
Chris Harris will
lead a galaxy of international stalwarts representing ICL World ,
Habibul Bashar will lead the ICL Bangladesh and R.Sathish will lead
the formidable ICL India.
Announcing the prize money for the ICL World Series , Kapil
Dev, Chairman, Executive Board, Indian Cricket League (ICL) said, "The
level of cricket at ICL is on an ascendancy mode. In the ongoing ICL 20 20
championship , we saw our boys come out with stand-out
performances, which shaped the results of some high standard
cricket matches. With
ICL World Series , our promising domestic boys will face the toughest
challenge of proving their cricketing credentials against three
of the mightiest teams in the world. These Indian players will be
selected after a thorough selection process by the Executive Board along
with the Selection committee, based on their growth as cricketers and
respective individual performance."

operations. Multiple venues, additional teams, an improved player base and
