• Carnival is being organised with
the support from State Government to women who want to be entrepreneurs
Mrs. Suman Kumar, President of COWE informs that the COWE Trade Carnival is being organized with the support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The second in the series of annual fairs being organized by Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs, it is also supported by ZDH/Sequa partnership program of Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Several other organizations like SBI, SBH, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, SIDBI, Margadarshi, Andhra Bank and Radio Mirchi are supporting the trade fair. The Trade Carnival offers benefits to both budding women entrepreneurs as well as existing women entrepreneurs. Budding women entrepreneurs and those who want to setup businesses can learn and enrich themselves with the advice and experiences of successful women entrepreneurs. Existing women entrepreneurs have opportunities to widen market opportunities, to reach more customers, to create awareness and interest in their products. The specially created stalls are offered at subsidized rates exclusively for women to display their products manufactured or traded by them or for franchises. Apart from these benefits, a special Pavilion for Entrepreneurial and Franchise opportunities is also being setup by COWE that will provide consultancy and counselling to women who want to be entrepreneurs and start a business. Successful businesswomen will provide the necessary information to those interested in setting up businesses in various fields such as Fashion Designing, Soft Toy Making, Candle Making, Bakery business, Medical Transcription, Glass painting, Landscaping, Catering, etc. Following the democratic philosophy of ‘BY WOMEN, OF WOMEN, FOR WOMEN", this all women trade body ventured out to organize its maiden trade fair last year. The first exhibition effort by Cowe last year was a huge success where 147 stallholders participated and almost 12000 visitors witnessed the show in 3 days. "Cowe's Trade Carnival 08" is the 2nd in the series of annual fairs. This year it has 200 stalls, out of these 70% are exclusively for women entrepreneurs, 20% for SHGs, 5% each for NGOs & Corporates. About 20% of the exhibitors this year comprise of national and international organisations, added Mrs. P. Soudhamini, Secretary of COWE. About 200 exhibitors will exhibit products such as Fashionware, Handicrafts, Home Need Products, Decoration items, Jewellery, Household goods, and many more consumer durables all manufactured by women entrepreneurs. Apart from these an exclusive arena for entertainment has been setup that will have Cultural events, dance & music programs and food courts have been organised. The Trade Carnival will be participated by women entrepreneurs who are in service providing such as Career Counselling, Medical Transcription, Home and House Keeping, Fashion Designers, Wedding Service Providers, Portrait Painters, Food Processors, Travel and Insurance Agents, etc. and others will also participate. These exhibitors are from all over India. For all women from urban, rural, national and international areas aspiring to be socially and economically self-reliant, irrespective of their academic, social and economic background and seeking guidance to grow, COWE’s Trade Carnival is the right choice, informed Mrs. P. Soudhamini, Secretary of COWE. Besides the several cultural programmes lined up at the carnival, a live interactive aerobics session by Dinaz’s with health and fitness tips featuring the renowned Ms. Dinaz Vervatwala herself will be held on the concluding day i.e. 7th September from 5 PM to 6 PM. The aim of the session is to promote a healthy lifestyle and creating awareness about fitness in the city.
