Tanzanian delegation on study tour of "Bhu Bharathi" Programme being taken up in AP

Hyderabad,India,September 2008: A high-level delegation from the Republic of Tanzania, led by H.E. Capt.(Rtd.) John Z Chiligati, Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development met Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his Assembly office. The delegation is here to study in detail the "Bhu Bharathi" programme being taken up in the State. The Tanzanian Minister told the Chief Minister that the Government of Tanzania has also taken up such a scheme and it is in the process of survey and study. In fact they wanted to study in detail, the programme being taken up in Andhra Pradesh and replicate the same in Tanzania.

The Minister told the Chief Minister that Tanzania has lot of land and the ministry has taken up a programme to improve management of land records including scanning, computerization and development of land information system. The delegation which had detailed discussions with the Minister for Revenue, Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao and the Bhu Bharathi officials is visiting the NIzamabad district where the programme is being implemented as a pilot programme. The Chief Minister said the Bhu Bharathi programme will be stepped up in the State and the aim of his government is to cover the entire state at the earliest.


The delegation consisted of Mrs. Salome Thaddaus Sijaona, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Developments, Mrs. Monica Mbega, Regional Copmmission, Ruvuma Region, Mr. Willy Joseph Njau, District Executive Director, Namtumbo District, Mr. Apolinary Klarensi Tamayamali, Director Policy and Planning, Prime Minister's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government, Mrs. Doroth Wanzala, Assistant Commission, MLHHSD, Northern Zone, Mr. Hamisi Nassor Saidi, Programme Manager, Better Regulation Unit, President's Office, Planning Commission and Mr. Mwamanenge A.M.R., High Commission, Tanzanian, New Delhi.
