Cricket Party.com conducts VPL (Virtual
Premier League) matches
Hyderabad,India,September 2008:‘After great lot of
activity of ICL (Indian Cricket League) and IPL (Indian Premier League)
which engaged the cricket fans all over the world, it is now VPL ( Virtual
Premier League) creating new trends in cricket’ says Mr Tagore Guttikonda,
Chairman of Agenya Group which owns and manages www.cricketparty.com, the
First MMOG (Massively Multi player Online Game) portal launched six months
ago.
Giving details in a press note issued today in city , Mr Tagore says
‘Playing cricket on MMOG platform is the latest phenomenon and
cricketparty has been instantly catching the cricket lovers attention all
over the world thus reaching a 5 million registered users in a short
period. We, from Agneya wanted to celebrate the success of our portal and
hence announced VPL ( Virtual Premier League), an innovative cricket
competitions in Andhra Pradesh to begin the worlds new trend. Over 100
teams registered from leading Engineering and other Degree Colleges in
Andhra Pradesh are currently participating in the VPL, playing with
cricket matches Online. The Finals will be paying at CARPEDIUM, the
popular Annual event of CBIT ( Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology
), the number 1 ranked Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh on 4 October
2008, where in over 40000 Engineering students from all over India will be
present’
Informing the details of IPL, Mr Tagore says ‘ We have prescribed simple
rules and conditions for teams for this VPL Competitions where in each
College team ( selected with teams scored 500 runs or more as
prequalification ) with 11 players play a 10 over match and each college
can nominate up to 6 teams. Teams are now playing the matches and moving
towards Finals through elimination process. We have kept points for Voting
so that Colleges can support their teams by voting which enables the Teams
earn 10 points at the Finals. The Winners of Semi Finals and Finals will
receive prizes, cash awards at CARPEDIUM on 4 Oct 08 from the hands of
International Cricketers. There are Cash Awards for various other
categories including Award for Best Name, Award for Best Supporting Team
etc’
The Matches being conducted at State level for Engineering students is
only the beginning of VPL concept and we will continue to conduct matches
across the world for the benefit of online cricket players and set a new
trend in the world’ says Mr Tagore.
