Hyderabad|India|Sept'2008: Under the Distinguished Lecture Series, H.E. Mr. Bernd Mutzelberg, Ambassador of Germany to India delivered lecture on "India and Germany-Partners of Choice in the 21st century", at Sir. C.V. Raman Auditorium, on the University campus on 29th Sept.

Mr. Mutzelberg emphasized the need for strategic partnership between the two countries as they share some common parameters and their relations dating back to providing technological support to the Steel Plant at Rourkela, as well as to the IIT at Madras and Construction of 11,000/- k.m underwater cable from Kolkatta to London in the 19th Century.

He said, that Germany can provide add in value to existing development taking place in India in the fields of Energy, Sustainable development and Science and Technology. His Excellency also suggested that Germany can offer Vocational training to the unskilled Indian workforce.

Professor Seyed E Hasnain, Vice Chancellor of UoH presided over the lecture. Professor AS Raghavendra, Dean, School of Life Sciences welcomed the audience and introduced the distinguished guest whereas Prof. PC Sarangi, Director, Study in India Programme proposed the Vote of Thanks. His Excellency later interacted with the students and faculty members.
