AP plans 200 MW nuclear power plant

while congratulating the Prime Minister
Dr.Manmohan Singh on US Senate approving the
Indo-US Nuclear deal announced that the AP GENCO
would establish a nuclear power plant of not less
than 2000 MW capacity in Andhra Pradesh.The State
Government asked the APGENCO a preliminary report
on establishing the nuclear power plant. The
APGENCO would submit the action plan by next week.
The Chief Minister said that he telephoned Prime
Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh on his return from a
successful foreign tour and congratulated him for
the landmark Indo-US nuclear agreement. He said
that he also lauded the Prime Minister for the
nuclear agreement with France and the efforts the
Prime Minister has taken to clinch the Indo-Us
nuclear deal. With the ever rising demand for
power, the nuclear energy will be able to generate
the required power without affecting the
environment and ecology. This would also boost the
industrial and agricultural productivity and take
the country to the path of progress.
The Chief Minister said that he also congratulated
Smt. Sonia Gandhi when he met her two days ago at
New Delhi. He said that the nuclear deal is a
historic achievement of the UPA Government and
hailed the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh for
his unstinted efforts in making it realty. The
Chief Minister while thanking the Prime Minister
for the increased MSP for various agricultural
produces, requested for a further hike in the MSP
for paddy. The Prime Minister assured the Chief
Minister to favourably look into the matter.
