The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers(IETE) is India's leading technical, professional society established in 1953 by a small group of pioneering, practitioners of electronics , telecommunications and related disciplines. IETE has now over 45,000 members spread all over India and in a few countries abroad. IETE members are the key professionals engaged in all aspects of the development of high-tech areas in India and abroad.

It was founded for promoting the general advancement of Telecommunications, Electronics and Information Technology and to facilitate exchange of Information and Ideas in the fields, which revolutionized economies of nations world wide and for interaction of professionals engaged in the Industry,. Educational Institutions, R&D Laboratories and Government Departments.


It endeavours to respond to the need of fast changing and emerging technologies and strengthen the cause and competence of the professionals by enabling them to keep abreast of the technological frontiers.
The IETE focuses on advances in the field of science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunications, Computers and related areas.

To achieve this, IETE conducts and sponsors Technical meetings, Conferences, Symposia, Exhibitions, etc., all over the Country, and publishes nearly 50% of India's Technical Papers in above areas and provides continuing education to update its members. The IETE also facilities its student members to acquire engineering Degree/Diploma equivalent qualifications through its well-established and recognized examination systems.

The IETE through its members provides leadership in a number of scientific and technical areas of direct importance to National Development and Economy.



About IETE, Hyderabad Centre
The IETE, Hyderabad Centre, established in the year 1973, has grown to be the most prominent in the country among the IETE Centres. Right from its inception the center has been concentrating, on Continuous Education Programmes. In these 29 years the centre has made many rapid strides in reaching physical as well as academic heights. It has a strength of 1150 corporate members and around 2200 Student members attached to it. 7 Student Forums from various Engineering colleges as below are attached to the Hyderabad Centre.
In recognition of its all round performance, the Hyderabad Centre has been adjudged as the Best Performance Centre in India for five times and is established as the Resource Centre in IT.

The centre has its own infrastructure facilities like:

1. Electronics Lab
IETE has an excellent electronics Lab facility with a wide range of advanced electronic test and measuring equipments including a sophisticated microwave bench and design softwares like TINA PRO and FPGA Advantage which aid in design of SSI and VLSI circuits. Intensive coaching is provided in the lab for students appearing for the REB (Lab Practice) Examinations.

2.Computer Labs
An impressive collection of the latest in hardware and software, amply supported by a well stocked library, together, comprise an enviable toolkit that any student can be proud of. The computing facilities provide students with the requisite exposure to various computer systems and advanced software. The highly sophisticatedcomputer center has over 60 systems with required software. A Multimedia lab established with high speed Internet connection through ISDN line is operational for taking up projects based on Internet applications at our Centre.A number of CD s containing latest and useful software is available for students learning and developing software projects.

3. Library
Even in the present technologically sophisticated era, the written word continues to be the most basic pedagogical tool. IETE, Hyderabad Centre is one of the best-stocked libraries with around 5050 books. Students have access to latest reference works, textbooks and periodicals in diversified fields of Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, etc.



Course offered:
ALCCS Equivalent to M.Tech. in Computer Science (Regular Part-Time).
Eligibility : B.E./B.Tech (any branch), MCA, AMIE, AMIETE, M.Sc. (Maths & Electronics and other allied sciences)
Duration : 3 years (6 Semesters)
Description : ALCCS is a 3 year Regular Part time Course conducted by the Institution. At present the course is being offered at New Delhi and Hyderabad and Chennai. ALCCS has been recognized by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India as equivalent to M.Tech in Computer Sciences for recruitment to superior posts and services under Central Government. The course is designed to impart training in the area of Scientific, Industrial and Commercial Software Development. The course provides both algorithmic development and application-oriented development.
