A second earth station has been set up at the software Technology Park Of India (STPIs),Hyderabad.The earth station at the STPI in Hyderabad will function as a back-up in case of default in the functioning of the first Earth station there. the Earth station provides up linking facility to Software exporters. The project is funded by STPI and jointly developed by the Central and the State governments and STPI. This move is part of the governments attempts to improve infrastructure for software to reach $50 bn in software exports by 2008. At present there are seventeen STPI's operating in the country and the government proposes to setup STPI's in each State capitals in the next two years.
