SSL is a twenty year old, ISO certified, full services spatial information technology company dedicated to excellence and customer satisfaction. The company is a pioneer in the field of mapping and GIS in India. SSL is headquartered in Hyderabad.

Spatial information is rapidly moving on from proprietary systems to the mainstream supporting business processes. SSL provides the geospatial solutions needed for complex data management and processing requirements of governments and businesses today. 


Profile:
SSL was born of the vision of two young technocrats, Chandra S Nori and K C M Kumar, who aspired to create a customer focussed company with a strong technology orientation. SSL pioneered private initiatives in remote sensing in India, way back in 1981 and has since evolved into a full service geomatics firm staying close to the customer.

Timeline
SSL has constantly endeavored to keep abreast of the latest technology trends and has reinvented itself in line with technology and customer needs.
1984 Commenced manufacture of visual image interpretation systems, with technology sourced from National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), Department of Space, India 
1986 Integrated systems and solutions in association with PCI Geomatics and Essential Planning Systems, Canada 
1987 Commercialized PC based Image Processing Systems with technology from Space Application Center (SAC), Ahmedabad, comprising VIBGYOR Image Display System and SACIMAGE Image Processing Software 
1989 Developed Small Format Digital Film Recorders (fotorite 1010C) with technology transferred by National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) 
1992 Designed, developed and commenced Manufacture of Large Format (40" * 40") Digital Film Recorders (fotorite 1040C) 
1994 Received an order and commenced work on Large Topographical Mapping project of over a million dollars from The National Survey Authority, Sultanate of Oman 
1995 Implemented softcopy photogrammetry systems for strategic and tactical applications 
2001 Offices opened in New Jersey, USA, Frankfurt (Germany), Gabrone (Botswana).
