Application Software, Project : RAPIDS (Railway Passenger Information Display System): 

With over 11 million passengers traveling everyday on over 62,000 routes, it is no surprise that the queues at the reservation counters are unending and the enquiry counters overflowing. To make the process of train inquiry faster and more efficient, Sriven Multi-Tech has, in association with the Indian Railways, created a touch screen based passenger information kiosk. 

The RAPIDS kiosks let passengers make enquiries on the status of their tickets, seat availability on trains traveling between various sectors and the fare between any two points. Using a very simple and intuitive interface, the kiosks stand elegantly at the reservation complex and are thronged by enthusiastic passengers who have found the whole system so easy to use without any assistance at all. 
In the initial phase, Kiosks have been installed at Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta, Pune and Secunderabad to be followed soon by Mumbai, etc. In the pipeline are applications that actually allow passengers to purchase tickets directly from these kiosks using either a credit or a debit card.

Sriven is today undoubtedly India’s leading touch-screen solutions provider. It has specialized in bringing localized, multilingual content of high quality to the very fingertips of an information hungry world. As a pioneer of touch-screen kiosk technology in India, Sriven realised that the full economic or developmental potential of the Internet and other electronic media cannot be made a reality unless enough Indians get connected and become familiar with electronic interfaces. 

Technologically, the company has partnered with Microtouch of Australia to build solutions around their range of capacitive touch-screen monitors.

The result of these efforts can be seen in the TouchMe! Hyderabad kiosks which host interactive multimedia content on tourism and entertainment. The kiosk project was showcased at 2 successive World Kiosk Conferences and has won much accolades. 

It has deployed 50 touch-screen kiosks across Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Calcutta. The custom kiosk software developed by its software team, enables PNR enquiries, accommodation status, etc. 

Internet vending and e-commerce enabled kiosk booths are being set up at strategic locations in Mumbai as part of Powersurfer Interactive, a visionary initiative that Sriven has taken up in partnership with BSES Telecom. This chain of kiosks, which are connected through a fibre-optic cable network, will be powered by Sriven’s powerful kiosk engines and will deliver broadband multimedia content and e-commerce services.
