APC LAUNCHES NEW intelligent ups FOR PC professionals
Two new features - Modem line protection and PowerChute® Plus Software for
automatic file saving and shut down
July, 2001:American Power Conversion (APC) today launched a new UPS, the BACK UPS AVR PRO for professionals. Targeting single PC users in the home and office segment this UPS provides two new and intelligent features - modem or telephone line protection and automatic shutdown software. Now customers can have their PCs protected from power fluctuations that come through the telephone, fax or modem lines in addition to regular power lines. The APC PowerChute plus software, bundled free with the UPS, automatically saves all data and files before shutting down the computer. These features will be useful to professionals, consultants, software developers, students and executives who work on their PCs from homes.
Priced at Rs. 5,555/- this unique, first of its kind UPS will be available through APC dealers and computer retail stores across the country. The APC Back UPS AVR Pro comes with a comprehensive 2-year warranty (that includes the battery) and is supported by a countrywide network of 69 authorized service centers.

The Back-UPS AVR Pro provides superior, full time surge protection for your PC and provides instantaneous, uninterrupted battery backup during power cuts. In addition, it conducts an automatic self-test of the battery once every fourteen days of continuous operation and reports the status of battery.
