Association President stressed need to organise IT Expos more often
City has more than 300 dealers doing a computer retail sales turnover of
over Rs 150 crore (exclusive direct sales made by cos) per year. Twin cities
is a market of resellers than dealers, says Computer Dealers Body President.
55 Companies are showcasing about 500 products in the expo, offering special
offers customised only for the expo. The expo is Open from 10am to 7pm upto
Sunday. There will be a Seminar on Power of Internet tomorrow at 12.00noon.
Funny Entertainers to organise cultural and "Fun to Future" Competitions for
children below 15 years in conjunction with the trade tomorrow at 5pm .

Hyderabad, February, 2003: The three day IT Product Expo, an exhibition for
Hardware, Software Products & Services of IT & Telecom Industry was
held in the city. Mr. K.V.R Menon, President of Twin Cities Computer Dealers’
Association, cut the ribbon and later lit the traditional lamp together with
Mr. Syed Ishaq Ahmed, Regional Manager of Aditya Infotech Ltd to mark the
inauguration.
Speaking to media men immediately after the inauguration Mr. Menon said ‘IT
Expos like this one must be organised quite often, appropriately once in six
months. Information is knowledge, knowledge is power. Knowledge can be
disseminated by way mass media as well as well expos like this one’, he
said.
Adding further he informed that ten members of the Twin Cities Computer
Dealers’ Association are participating in the expo and assured that there
would be more positive response from the members in future. He thanked
organisers for offering special packages for the association members.
Speaking about the activities of the association Mr. Menon said, the
association today has 114 trader members and 27 corporate members. The
association, which is a common platform for dealers to air their grievances
began with 40 members five years back and today has 141 and expected to
cross 200 members by the end of the year. However twin cities has more than
300 dealers in all togther doing a retail sales turnover of over Rs 150
crore per annum. However this figure is exclusive of direct sales made by
the companies. The sales was good until last year. But due to recession in
the international market, the IT retail sales has come down in twin cities
by 15 to 20 per cent informed Mr. Menon. Twin cities has more resellers than
dealers, he added. Mr. Menon was too happy to see lot of crowd in the first
hour of the beginning of the expo. And appreciated Mr. Venu Bhagavan
organiser of the expo and his team for the best efforts put in.
The three day expo has attracted 55 companies exhibiting nearly 500 IT
products. Some of the participating products and companies include The

Funny Entertainers to organise "Fun to Future" a fun filled competitions and
cultural programmes for kinds on Face Painting, Parady Songs, Mock Quiz,
Fashion Parade and Theme Dance Competitions. Children below 15 years are
allowed to participate in these events free of cost. These programmes will
