· GTB e-banking kiosks will
facilitate customers to make banking transaction
and pay utility bills over the internet
· Kiosks to be installed at branches and ATM centres
Hyderabad, July 2002:
Continuing it’s initiatives to use technology to make banking easy for it’s
customers, Global Trust Bank (GTB), one of India’ s leading new private
sector banks, launched its e-banking kiosks.
GTB’s e-banking kiosk is based on innovative technology that enables
customers perform all their banking transactions in complete privacy and in
a secure manner. To begin with the e-banking kiosks will be deployed at
select GTB branches and ATM centre’s and will be extended shortly to cover
all cities in the country where the Bank has a presence.
The e-banking kiosk was formally inaugurated by Mr. Ramalinga Raju,
Chairman-Satyam Computer Services Ltd., in the presence of Mr. T. Devendar
Goud, Minister for Home, AP Government, Mr.Pullela Gopichand All England
Badminton Champion and Mr.Sudhakar Gande, Managing Director Global Trust
Bank.
GTB’s e-banking kiosks, among the first of its kind in India, offers
multiple facilities to its customers. Apart from being able to carry out
most of their banking transactions customers can use the kiosks to make
payments against their utility bills, insurance premiums, etc. It may be
recalled that GTB has already tied-up with institutions such as the Life
Insurance Corporation, Rediff.com, sify.com. Fabmart.com Airtel, Escotel and
e-Seva (Government of Andhra Pradesh e-governance project). In effect, GTB’s
e-banking kiosk will become the one touch point for its customer to conduct
banking transactions as well as to effect payments.
Says Mr P.C. Narayan- President Global Trust Bank, we realised that lack of
easy Internet access was preventing customers from exploiting the very
powerful, convenient and cost effective medium of internet banking. This led
us to introduce the e-banking kiosks, which facilitates both banking and
payment transactions electronically and inculcates the habit among customers
to use technology that is very friendly yet secure. We believe that
customers will see value in transacting online at the e-Banking kiosks and
migrate increasingly to such `self-service’ modes of Banking in the future’.
The state of the art e-banking Kiosk is developed exclusively for Global
Trust Bank by M/s NFK Cyber-Kiosk, a Mumbai based company.
GTB has an existing network of 100 branches with 200 Plus ATMs in 33 cities.
Since its inception in 1994, Global Trust Bank has been very technology
savvy, using the latest in information technology to service the needs of
its customers through products such as Internet Banking, Anywhere Banking,
MyTime ATM, 2424 Phone Banking, Mobile Banking etc. For further details,
