JP Mobile Speeds Time to
Market for ISVs, Wireless Operators with SureWave Sync Server
SyncML Certification by Open
Mobile Alliance Ensures Support for Newest Handhelds
Hyderabad, January , 2003:
JP Mobileä, Inc., a leading software provider that extends and manages
corporate data on handhelds and the parent company of JP Mobile India
Limited, today announced the general availability of SureWaveä Sync Server
3.0. This off-the-shelf, bi-directional synchronization module allows
software developers and wireless operators to rapidly develop and mobilize
applications on handhelds. By adding this plug-and-play module to a larger
mobile application framework, companies who build or host mobile
applications can reduce their coding and maintenance requirements and are no
longer required to develop a core competency in mobile data synchronization
technology. SureWave Sync Server also comes packaged with industry
standards-based APIs and adaptors to ensure quick and easy integration into
the overall mobile application framework.
SureWave Sync Server easily passed rigorous certification testing scenarios,
which included demonstrations that SureWave could efficiently synchronize
data on handhelds randomly selected by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) during
the OMA’s recent SyncFest event in France. The SyncML certification means
that SureWave Sync Server supports the newer SyncML handhelds, such as the
Nokia 9210, 9290 Communicators and Ericsson T68.
"The success of the recent SyncFest interoperability testing event
demonstrates the concrete progress made by companies in deploying open
standards in their products", said Jari Alvinen, OMA Chairman of the Board.
"Interoperability testing with multiple products is one of the key elements
in the Open Mobile Alliance program for releasing high quality open
specifications."
We’re also seeing companies demanding shortcuts to help them mobilize
applications without the need for a thorough understanding of each
complexity in the mobile landscape, said Ananth Rao, executive vice president
of JP Mobile. This offering is the first of its kind to address that need in
one of the most complex areas of mobile development. Using recognized
industry standards for mobile data synchronization, SureWave Sync Server
provides a robust and reliable development package.
