Seagate is Disc Drive of Choice for India's Growing I.T. Market

PCQuest Users' Choice Award goes to Seagate for third consecutive year

NEW DELHI, India - September 26, 2001: Seagate Technology, the world's leading  hard disc drive supplier, was declared the clear winner of the annual PCQuest  Users' Choice Award for Hard Disc Drives in its recent survey. The results of  the PCQuest nationwide poll were published in the magazine's September issue. 

The PCQuest Users' Choice award reflects technology users' perceptions of different  IT brands and vendors. The survey was conducted with 1,500 respondents consisting  of IT managers, corporate decision-makers and computer users based on the following  criteria: performance, quality, support, ease of use, popularity and price. 

In the Hard Disc Drive category, where performance and quality are the top two selection criteria, Seagate drives scored particularly well. Based on the Company's  exceptional results, Seagate was declared the overwhelming winner. 

"Winning this prestigious award for the third year in a row manifests Seagate's brand popularity with the Indian users," said Krishna Kumar, executive editor, PCQuest.

Over the years, Seagate hard drives have garnered rave reviews from leading publications  worldwide. In India, some of the recent product recognition for Seagate included  Editor's Choice for the U Series disc drive from PC World India in September  2000, and Editor's Choice for the Barracuda ATA family of disc drives from CHIP India in August 2000. Additionally, Seagate was also awarded the PCQuest Users'  Choice in 1999 and 2000.

In January of this year, Seagate established a support office in New Delhi to launch new products and provide support services to the fast-growing storage market in India. The new facility's location will enable Seagate to develop closer ties to the market, as well as strengthen customer service capabilities. Seagate will continue to be supported by its local distributors ACI, Esys and Ingram 
Micro to deliver the latest products to the growing India IT market.

PCQuest Users' Choice Award
Held on an annual basis in India, this survey is conducted by PCQuest, a leading industry magazine of the Cyber Media Group. The survey is one of the largest of its kind in the country and spans a wide range of product categories and vendors to determine the winners of the "Users' Choice Awards."
