TATA Teleservices ushers in convergence era with India's First Post-paid Internet Services on a regular telephone line 

Hyderabad,  August, 2001 : TATA Teleservices Limited, becomes the first private operator of the country to launch post-paid Internet services on a regular telephone line with the launch of NetReady Internet Service. 

The unique feature of TATA Teleservices NetReady Internet Service is that the customer can access the Internet and pay the bill later along with the telephone bill. The NetReady Internet charges are billed monthly to the customer as a part of TATA Teleservices phone bill. The customers can use the TATA Teleservices NetReady Internet Service by registering with TATA
Teleservices Limited.

The pre-requisite for availing this service is that the applicant must have one TATA Teleservices Limited telephone connection (wireline, fixed wireless or Mobitel). The consumer can use a DOT telephone connection too for accessing the Internet as long as there is a billing relationship with TATA Teleservices Limited. The customer is given a password, which enables him to access the services whenever he needs to surf the net.

The Net Ready Service can be availed by paying a one-time annual registration fee of Rs 100 only. The customer will then have two service-packages to choose from. Surf@ease <mailto:Surf@ease> package offers customers hours of access at Rs 11 per hour. Surf@unlimited

<mailto:Surf@unlimited> offers the customers unlimited usage at Rs. 330 per month. Customers can avail of 50 per cent discount on usage while accessing on Sundays and during 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. on all days. 

The TATA Teleservices NetReady Internet Service provides convenience (one time annual registration and monthly consolidated bill), faster connectivity, accurate billing by the last second of usage and a host of innovative services to its customers. NetReady Internet Service, will initially be available to all TATA Teleservices customers in Hyderabad and will subsequently be introduced in the other cities of Andhra Pradesh.
