Satyam enables SK C&C to
be eSCMSM certified at Level 3
SK C&C becomes second
organization in the world to get this certification
Hyderabad, February,
2005: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE:SAY), a leading global
consulting and IT services company, has announced that it has successfully
enabled the infrastructure Business Division of SK C&C, in South Korea to be
certified at eSourcing Capability Model (eSCMSM), capability
level 3. The Infrastructure business unit of SK C&C, which provides Data
Center Services in the fields of Mainframe, Server and Network Services, has
been certified under the model.
In a ceremony held at the
SK C&C Head Office at Seoul, Mr. Prabhuu Sinha - Sr. Vice President and
Global Head-Quality Solutions, Satyam presented the Certificate of eSCM
- SP Level 3, on behalf of the Carnegie Mellon University, to Mr. Kil Sub
Lee, Vice President (Infra Biz Division), SK C&C.

Satyam, as a founding
partner of the consortium, has supported Carnegie Mellon University,
Pittsburgh USA, to develop the eSourcing Capability Model eSCMSM.
Other members of the eSCMSM consortium at Carnegie Mellon
include Accenture, IBM Global Services, EDS and STQC, Govt. of India.
The eSCMSM provides guidance to IT-enabled sourcing (ITES)
service providers (includes BPO and IT service providers) to improve
their capability to deliver high-quality services consistently. The eSCMSM
model and its evaluation methods enable service providers to establish,
manage, and continually improve sourcing relationships with clients SK
C&C adopted the eSCMSM as an integral part of the

support the achievement of its long term vision of 'Better Division
Image 2006'. As a part of this plan, Infra Business Division aims to
become the Top Infra Service Company amongst the existing domestic
competition. |
On this milestone
achievement, Mr. Kil Sub Lee said, "We are delighted to have attained
eSCM Capability Level 3. The implementation of eSCM in the Infra Biz team
has enabled us to considerably improve our productivity and enhance customer
satisfaction level. We are now targeting to attain level 4 next year. We are
grateful to Satyam Quality Consulting Division who added tremendous value in
this journey."
SK C&C has implemented eSCM
to reap benefits such as productivity enhancement through the streamlining
of all the organizational activities and achieve a higher level of customer
satisfaction. This will contribute positively towards SKC&C Infra Business's
financial goals for revenue and contributed profit ratio.
Satyam has been associated
with SK C&C throughout the eSCMSM journey. Satyam's consultants
facilitated the expeditious design and deployment of processes that were
required to accomplish the eSCMSM capability level 3.
Mr. Prabhuu Sinha said,
"The recent certification of SK C&C for eSCM Level 3 is a very positive
indication of large scale implementation of the eSCM by the IT Service
providers. There are several other organizations, who are adopting this
model. We are likely to see many more certifications in the year 2005. The
BPO and IT Services companies are using this 'best - practice' framework
for, not only to improve their capability but also to demonstrate their
quality commitment."
Congratulating the SK
C&C team, Mr. Virender Aggarwal, Satyam's Sr. Vice President and Head of
Asia Pacific Operations commented "The certification of SK C&C is an

Satyam had enabled LG CNS
attain the eSCMSM in November 2003, making it the first
organization to be certified at Level 3 in the world.
