National
academy of Legal Studies & research University of Law The national Academy of
legal studies & research university of law has shifted to Shamirpet.Set up in 1998 as a fully residential university
aimed at imparting a five-year comprehensive B.A.B.L.(Hons)
course and shaping able,competent lawyers. The campus would
be formally inaugurated by the Chief Justice of India,Mr.A.S.
Anand in October.
The university is gearing to
introduce a number of new postgraduate courses and research
programmes.the short and long term courses include those on
human rights, legal journalism, cyber laws and legal
awareness. some of these being offered as postgraduate
diploma courses like legal journalism would be at the
University's city center at Bharkatpura.
Admissions are through an
All-India Common Entrance examination and the first batch of
35 students is in the third year now. The fresh third batch
of 60 students this year came from 15 different states and
one each from SriLanka and Bangladesh.Of the 60 seats,50 are
merit seats with each student expected to pay Rs 32,000/-as
annual fee. The remaining 10 are payment sets and each of
these candidates has paid Rs 10 lakhs.
The university has recently
completed the admission process for the LLM(Human Rights)and
is co-sponsoring the PG Diploma in Alternative Dispute
Resolution along with International Centre for Alternative
Dispute Resolution. |
