Bollywoods obession with Saratchandra Chattopadhyaya's tragic tale, first published in 1917 continues with the latest version in the form of 'Dev D ' which has just hit the silver screen probably for the 13th time this time.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, 'Dev D' is a modern version of the famous character Devdas. The protagonist Devdas (Abhay Deol) is the son of a zamindar and falls in love with Paro (Mahi Gill).

The differences in their status & other situations makes it impossible for Devdas to marry her, leading to her marriage to a widower, and his departure to Calcutta. Devdas then tries to find love in drugs, alcohol and a prostitute.

Abhay Deol is surely on a roll after his noteworthy performance in 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oyey'.With 'Dev D' Abhay Deol has indeed arrived in style!. Sex & sexuality has been taken on to a different level with 'Dev D' and Bollywood like Ahay Deol has arrived !!

As the title suggests, it indeed a bold step to give a new rocking look for the character of Devdas.This film has been getting rave reviews all over and its a hit.
