Time Films International Jodi No.1 is another attempt at comedy by director David Dhawan.Jodi No 1 has Govinda and Sanjay Dutt teaming after their not-too-impressive attempt at comedy in Haseena Maan Jayegi.

The guru of slipshod comedy Dhawan is again on familiar grounds and the storyline is aptly bristled with many comic moments.

Jai (Govinda) & Veeru (Sanjay Dutt) are partners and friends in misdeed and offenses and their ideal partnership is christened Jodi No.1. They hoodwink people after gaining their confidence. However, after a run in with a local don, they are forced to flee Mumbai city. En route, they happen to meet Inder (Rajat Bedi), an NRI on his way to Goa to work as a manager for Rai Bahadur (Anupam Kher), a wealthy businessman, who owns a beer factory. 

The duo manage to get Inder behind bars and proceed to Goa with Jai deciding to act as the NRI manager and Veeru as his friend. Their goal being, to run away with Rai Bahadur's wealth. Enter romance. They come into contact with Tina (Twinkle Khanna) and Rinky (Monica Bedi). Jai falls for Tina while Veeru is after Rinky (how very well, you may think! Well, that’s Hindi film for you.). They decide to shelve their plans and take pledge for solving the problems of the factory along with the problems of their heart. Ho Hum. How humdrum.

Chi Chi and Dutt make for an interesting cast ensemble. While one is a slick prankster with good sense of timing and humor, the other is an under-performer with his own peculiar ways to tickle a few funny bones. David Dhawan is, of course, on comfortable grounds.
