Winner of four Golden
Globe awards, Slumdog Millionaire is a touching
account of a street kid. British director Danny
Boyle`s underdog story is about an impoverished kid
Jamal Malik who gets a chance to contest the game show
"Who Wants to be a Millionaire?". In flashbacks, the
movie reveals the story of his life in the slums, the
struggles, his love, his near-death experience, and
how he knows the answers to all of the `Millionaire`
questions.
Danny Boyle's
improbable dream to recreate Vikas Swarup's novel Q&A
on a $15 million budget,
has been making waves all over. At the Golden Globes,
where its cast and crew were called to the podium four
times for Best Film (Drama), Best Director, Best
Screenplay and Best Original Score.
Slumdog Millionaire has bagged 8 Oscar Awards at the
81st annual Academy Awards held on February 22.
With all the hype
that has been storming over this film, the
expectations have been very high for anyone going for
this film and at the end of the movie, one really
wonders weather its worth all the awards that has been
bestowed on this film award after award. For Indian
audience, this might be yet another routine glossy films but
then for the western audience, its bollywood all packed
into one delicious tray. It has indeed been a treat
for them and hence the award bounty which has been overflowing
ever since it hit the international market.

done, the movie for sure has many golden moments. AR
Rahman's music has been outstanding. Just like the
story of the movie, the films has been on a magical
journey from rags to riches all the way to the Oscars.
