ADP Hyderabad Cricket Tournament
Hyderabad|India|April'2010: In the spirit of the ongoing T20
cricket matches, ADP Private Limited, a subsidiary of ADP , Inc., hosted a
four-week-long cricket tournament at its Hyderabad campus. This is the
second season of this tournament.
More than 40 teams participated in the tournament, which was held on four
consecutive weekends from March 20 to April 18, 2010. A unique feature of
the tournament involved each team having at least one woman associate bat
in the first four overs and bowl in the first five overs.
Creating interesting team names brought out the spirit of the tournament.
Team names were the Gladiators, Dragon Warriors, Black Knights, ADP
Challengers, and Spartans, to name just a few. The semi-finals of the
tournament were played between D&G and the ADP Chargers as well as the
Deccan Cavaliers and GV Bulls. In the final match, the ADP Chargers and
the Deccan Cavaliers competed against each other in front of an
enthusiastic crowd that cheered for their favourite team. The finale was
exhilarating and kept everyone on their toes all the way until the end of
the match.
Mr. Shakti Sagar, Managing Director, ADP Private Limited, said, “The
entire country is engrossed in cricket fever. We view sports as an
opportunity to promote team building. Therefore, we have been organising
several sporting activities for our associates. To work as a team is one
of the keys to success and we feel that cricket contributes to this
philosophy because every individual’s effort is critical to the team’s
success.”
ADP India is committed to providing associates with a supportive,
inclusive work environment. In addition to sporting activities, ADP India
has been organizing several creative workshops over the years for
associates and their families to create a welcoming environment. In
particular during the last few months, ADP India has organized associate
workshops such as creating greeting cards, learning self-defense
techniques for women, meditation, photography, and theatre, all of which
have received a strong response.
