TOURISM CELL, A ONE-STOP FACILITY FOR FILM MAKERS

Hyderabad|India|December'2010: The Andhra Pradesh Government has
set up a Film Tourism Cell under the Film Commission to extend
hassle free experience to filmmakers in the state, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan,
Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh, said
here.
Addressing FICCI’s Media and Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC)
2010, Mr. Ranjan said that the Film Tourism Cell will be a single
window establishment to promote film tourism in the state. It will
obtain all permissions from various government departments like
shooting in forests from the Forest Department and endowment
permissions to shoot in temples etc. within a time frame of two
weeks.
Mr. Ranjan said that the cell would also offer logistic support like
travel and lodging and catering services for film crew at any
location in the state on actual cost basis.
The cell would offer a package of services for film units including
all permissions and clearances, accommodation, transport, catering,
and security, for which a nominal 5% of the total package cost would
be charged.
He said that the state had a rich variety of locations ideal for
outdoor film shooting. Hyderabad, he said, offered state-of-the-art
production facilities in the form of animation studios, dubbing
labs, etc. The state was also blessed with idyllic locations,
production and post production facilities ideally suitable for
modern day film makers.
