AP delgation to
Washington
Hyderabad|India|May'2010: The Chief Minister Dr. K.Rosaiah hoped
that it will be a win-win situation for Andhra Pradesh and Washington when
the sister-State relations finally becomes a reality. He was speaking to
leaders of an Indian delegation that is leaving for USA led by Deputy
Speaker Nadendla Manohar at Camp Office. Dr Rosaiah said it will be a
great opportunity for the people of Andhra Pradesh and Washington and he
expected the delegation to showcase Andhra Pradesh in all its diversities
along with its industrial incentives.
There is a conducive atmosphere in the State for investment in various
spheres. The investors could take advantage of the new industrial policy
which offers the best incentives in the country. He said the State
administration is proactive and there is great potential for industrial
investments. He said the State has the maximum number of Special Economic
Zones and the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petro Investment Region along the
Vizag-Kakinada coast. The Chief Minister assured all help and support to
the people and investors of Washington who would like to invest in Andhra
Pradesh, the fastest expanding State in the country today.
In a message to the people of Washington to be conveyed by the delegation
from India, the Chief Minister said "On behalf of the Government and
people of Andhra Pradesh, I extend warm greetings to you. I am proud to
say that our State, Andhra Pradesh is the 5th largest in India and
Hyderabad, its capital, a metropolis now, is the most cosmopolitan Indian
city. While agriculture is a key contributor to the State's economy, the
new millennium witnessed manufacturing and service sectors fuelling AP's
growth. Today, Andhra Pradesh is home to several leading IT, Pharma,
Biotech, Aerospace, Healthcare, Power, Education and Defence
establishments.
Multinational giants like Microsoft, Dell, IBM, Deloitte, HSBC, Wells
Fargo, Amazon and Google have the state-of-art facilities in our capital
city and Facebook recently announced plans to set up their first Asian
operations at Hyderabad.
Just as we enjoy the burgers and fries of McDonald's and Subway,
expatriates who live in our State love Hyderabadi Biryani and world famous
Banganapalli mangoes. A.P.'s transformational approach has seen the
multiethnic fabric of our culture, absorb rich hues of harmony, happiness
and peaceful coexistence".
In view of several perceptible similarities between the States of
Washington and Andhra Pradesh, we wish to seek a sister State Relationship
with the State of Washington. Our delegation representing the government,
Corporate and social sectors of Andhra Pradesh will communicate to you the
synergies that will inspire and catalyse our Relationship. The delegation,
during their visit to your great country and State, will explore common
areas of interest between the two States in different fields-trade,
commerce, industry, education, culture etc. I take this opportunity to
invite everyone of you from the State of Washington to experience the
investor and tourist friendly ambience of our State. We look forward to
your ready reciprocation of our strong desire to forge a strategic
alliance".
The leaders of the delegation which met the Chief Minister consisted of
Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Principal Secretary, Industries, Sam Bob,
Co-Chairman, FICCI, J.A.Choudary, Managing Director, American Chamber, TY
Collin and others.
