53rd AP State Police Duty Meet held in City

Hyderabad|India|November'2010:All of us should work for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the people stated by  Chief Secretary of A.P. S.V. Prasad.  While participating as the Chief Guest  in the 53rd A.P.State Police Duty Meet 2010 today at the Central Police Lines, Amberpet Hyderabad  declared open the meet, addressing the gathering  he said that  All have to work for the calm, peace and order in the society. This Government is committed to the welfare of the Police people and modernisation of the equipment for the welfare of the peaceful society.  The Police Department contribute very silently in many walks of the society. To handle effectively and to improve the society, police deserve much support financially, moderinisation and also support to their families.Fitness and Health are equally important.  To encourage their skills they are to be provided with the worlds modern equipment.  This meet will provide better, stronger.more success and competitiveness in discharging their duties. Through this type of competetions they can improve their skills.

Police Play vital part in the overall performance of the Government he said.  Government is doing a lot to improve the welfare of the Police people in Finance, Housing, Vehicles, communication system and modernisation of the equipment.   He urged the police department to improve the Police force for the betterment of the society and wished the A.P. Police should be the best police force in the country, earn more fame and name in the coming days and success of the meet. 
 
    Addressing the gathering the DGP K.Aravinda Rao said we have this tradition of conducting  Police Duty Meet is an important event wherein police personnel from A.P.. compete and display their professional skills.  A major imperative for all in the police is to be highly professional and  skilfull in their tasks.   Our A.P. Police are doing good and lot is there to do he added.  The A.P. Police should be a role model and No.1 in the country.  Participate  with sportsmen spirit  which will improve in both physical and mental ability. Attention and sincerity  is also required to improve their caliber  he added.

       Addl.D.G.P. (APSP) S.K. Jayachandra  has given the  welcome address on the occasion and wished the meet a grand success.  The A.P. Police should achieve more medals in the forthcoming All India Duty Meet and work hard he added.


     Addl.D.G.P. Tejdeep kaur Menon said that the Police Duty meet comes back to Hyderabad after a break of seven years, ;it was last held in the city in 2003. The annual competitive test of police professional skills gets underway at the 53rd A.P.State Police Duty Meet 2010 inaugurated in Hyderabad today with competitions in Scientific Aids to Investigation, Written test in Crime Investigation, Law, Rules, Procedures, Court Judgments, Police Photography, Videography, Anti-Sabotage Checks, Dog squad and Computer awareness during the five day meet. The A.P. Police have not only emerged as the leaders in the country but have had the rare recognition of winning a specially instituted award - the Chief Minister"s trophy for the best teach of the meet at Ahmedabad earlier this year.  A.P. Police created a sensational record in the 53 year history of the All India Police Duty Meet by winning 11 medals and five trophies more than any state.  Smt. E. Ramanamma, WSI, WPS, Kakinada is the lone woman to win a medal in the grueling scientific aids to investigation competitions.  1500 turned up for the last sports meet in Nellore.  It is a matter of great pride for the entire police community that 17 medals were won by 16 police personnel at the commonwealth games.  It is even more impressive when we realize that the 17 medals were won by seven women and nine men representing the one crore and seventy five thousand police personnel in the entire country.   She said that 9 Territorial Ranges, 4 city ranges, 3 APSP Ranges and 5 special ranges totalling 21 range teams( 36 Inspectors, 72 sub-Inspectors, one woman sub inspector, 45 Head constables and 164 Constables) are taking part in this five day event and to help the Department to choose the best team to retain our position as the No.1 in the country at the next All India Duty Meet at Jaipur in February 2011.
