to your heart’, an opera that bridges the hearts of the elders and the
children to be staged by Team Abhyasa here at Sri Sathya Sai Nigamagamam
on Sunday, 28th December, 2008 at 5.30pm. School Opera is something which
is very rare in our schools. This will be an Indianised School Opera done
solely by children informed Principal of Abhyasa Residential Public School
Vinayak Kalletla. The special attraction will be the 10 students of the
school who attended Global Young Leaders conference in USA and who have
been invited to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony of the US President-elect
Barak Obama, will also present and participate in the Opera. This is being
performed as part of the Annual Cultual Festival of the School which will
be graced by about 1500 people. Mr Mani Shankar Iyer, the Telugu and Hindi
Film Director among several others will grace the occasion.
‘Listen to your heart’ is the title of the one and half hour opera which
has been conceived and written by the Principal Vinayak Kalletla. ‘Team
Abhyasa’ with all its eagerness and participative spirit, composed,
recorded, practised and gathered every essential element to make it
possible in just One Week. The whole school worked with proper harmony and
co-ordination to bring the opera into reality!.
The opera, takes off from the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai and
portrays the agony of an average prototype citizen of India, who is
seeking solutions from all the maladies afflicting us ! The songs and the
dances and drama elevates the viewers from the level of ‘doing’ to ‘being’,by
reviving traditional family and educational values. The opera tells us to
make a voluntary choice to ‘Be’ in thought, word and action as the panacea
for all societal maladies and brings to form the supreme role of mother in
transforming Human life and Society.
On the occasion Gold Medals will be presented to 10th and 12th class
toppers both subject wise and overall performance wise. Mamidoju Chaitanya
budding scientist and a girl from Adilabad who visited NASA recently and
who is collection signatures of eminent personalities of A.P on a banner
which she plans to present to Barak Obama at his searing in ceremony
belongs to Abhyasa school. She will be present on the occasion to receive
a Gold Medal as she is a topper in 12th class. The School Alumni
Association will be launched and a dedicated website will be unveiled.
Newly redesigned school website will also be unveiled on the occasion.
Abhyasa built on global mission of ‘Human Transformation’ initiated by
Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba, gives equal importance to academics and
co-curricular activities. This 12 years old school is established in a 25
acre campus on the foundation of time-tested values of Indian culture.

The Abhyasa is known for organizing first of its kind of Youth Assembly as
part of its Motto ‘Celebrating Service’ to sensitise youth to values such
as social service and social entrepreneurship on the lines of "The Youth
Assembly at the United Nations" held at the United Nation once in 2 years.
The idea of this Youth Assembly came into existence when Abhyasa student
M.R.S.K. Chaitanya won the UN Award for social service in 2006. This year
also 10 students of the school attended Global Young Leaders conference at
Washington DC and New York in which students from 100 countries
participated and have been invited to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony of
the US President-elect Barak Obama .
