Hyderabad|India|August'2009: City based Abhyasa Residential School
boys and girls shine at just concluded 18th A.P. Regional ICSE and
ISC Schools Sports Meet-2009. The meet which kicked off on 24th is
concluded on sunday at The HPS, Begumpet. The annual meet was
competed by 30 schools out of 110 ICSE and ISC Schools in the State
of Andhra Pradesh. The event was competed by 1156 students in both
Senior and Junior categories seperately by boys and girls. The
competition was held in 16 Track and Field Events in Athletics,
Swimming and Basket Ball.
Abhyasa Residential School wonEighteene Gold, Twenty One Silver and
Fourteen Bronze Medals. The schools boys sttod 2nd in 4X100 Relay
Run in Senior Boys Category. Its Senior Boys team adjudged as the
overall Champions in Basketball and Junior Boys team runner-up.
In Swimming alone it had won 17 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Abhyasa Team emerged Overall Championship in Swimming in Senior Boys
Category. Priyank.S bagged individual championship in Swimming in
Senior Boys Category. Mr. A.K. Parida, Principal Secretary, Youth
Advancement, Tourism and Culture Department, Government of Andhra
Pradesh gave away trophies to winners.
Three of its students selected to play on behalf of A.P team at
National Basket Ball Championship to be held in November in
Bangalore. These include Dipin.M, Manohar.CH, Anusha.B.
Ten swimmers selected for Nationals in Bangalore. These include
Apporva S., Yugandhara.Ch, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Priyank.S,
Vishwateja.M, Rahul.G, Darshan.H, Vivek Nair, Aditya Pitta and
Pushpa.K.
Vinayak Kalletla, Principal expressed his happiness for all round
performance of the school children.
The event gave children an opportunity to display their sporting
talent and also to forge friendship and integrity, informed Mr.
Vinayak.
